So what do you protect your children with? I personally don't wish my children to get such nasty things as diptheria, pertussis, polio, etc. Is it true that these diseases are no longer prevalent because of vaccines? If so, what will happen when we have an entire generation not vaccinated?

I certainly agree with you on the flu vaccine - it's a virus that mutates every year - how do you vaccinate against that?

However, I am not so sure on the other big diseases. I think it could be argued that it may work for some people to not get vaccinated because the majority of those around them DO get vaccinated and keep these diseases at bay, but I am not sure. Complexity fortress - where's the real information and data. I have nothing to make a decision on except the conflicting view of so called experts.

Well my intent isn’t to throw the baby out with the bathwater and argue that all vaccines are inherently bad. I lack the medical background and expertise to even begin to argue either side of that case, because as you said, it is a complexity fortress. But beyond the underreported potential dangers of the flu shot, I think it important for people to take a hard look at the relationship between the vaccination establishment, the “green” revolution in agriculture and decades of population control policies in order to make informed individual decisions on what is best for their families.

The hard facts are that vaccines save lives. Where would we be today without vaccines? In a world of polio, smallpox and many other diseases that would kill or cripple millions around the world. As for the flu vaccine, they do their best to guess what strain of the virus might be coming and the vaccine is typically a blend of many versions of the virus to help build up an immunity. Their goal, to avoid another 1918 epidemic. I for one think it's better than sitting on the side and hoping not to get sick.

As for GMO's. What food do you eat that hasn't been genetically modified? Pretty much everything you consume has been manipulated in one form or another by man to grow better, be more disease resistant or to produce faster.

It's much easier to spread fear than it is to spread information, isn't it.

Joe I suggest you do more of your own research into the non-Disney versions of these issues.

I'm sorry, but you lost me when you decided to try to defend Andrew Wakefield as being the victim of having his study suppressed. I find it odd that this conspiracy would wait more than 10 years after his initial study was published to suddenly decide it needed to be suppressed.

In my view, this incident is exactly how science works. Science is a self correcting discipline. One person publishes their results, but that one result is not taken as gospel. It needs to be independently verified. This is called peer-review, something seriously missing in the conspiracy theory world. In the past dozen years, multiple studies have been conducted by a variety of organizations to try to reproduce Wakefields link between autism and the MMR vaccine. To date, none of the studies have been able to find any link, including the most recent large study performed by the Danish that tracked 734,000 kids.

To me data speaks volumes, not hearsay or suspicion. And if you think that this many scientists and organizations are involved in some form of conspiracy, then you are in the realm of people like Alex Jones and I'm afraid nothing anyone says will convince you otherwise.

Independently verified and following the scientific method when the scientific establishment is owned and funded lock, stock and barrel? Cui Bono? Do I really need to go down the line of former scientists who have ended up in professional Siberia for attempting to publish anything that doesn’t jive with their keepers in the biotech establishment? There doesn’t need to be one overarching conspiracy for something as simple as the profit & power motives and unrealistic expectations of “regulation” to blow holes in the hull of healthy scientific advancement. But if you want to go there, I don’t suppose you’d find any reason to have some healthy suspicion of a biotech industry with a deep-rooted origin in eugenics, population control and chemical warfare agents would you? If you want a good read with excellent sources, you should check out “Seeds of Destruction” by William Engdalh and go from there. Jeffrey Smith has done some good work as well. On the other hand, if you want to comfortably dismiss the mountain of facts, evidence and sources as conspiracy theory then good bye and good luck to you Joe.

And by the way, you may want to reconsider how much stock you put in the Danish study when you consider the actions of the principle investigator. Of course we'll hear nothing of this in the corporate media. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2011/05/22/cdc-autism-researcher-indicted-for-fraud.aspx
